This unique blend provides Hojicha's savory, smooth, and toasted grain flavor is from sencha leaf stems that are aged over 4 years, then roasted. It has an additional depth of flavor from the Genmai's toasted rice.

Fun Fact: During World War II, the Japanese roasted green tea to lengthen its shelf life. Hojicha Genmai is called "popcorn tea" because when heated, some of the rice grains pop.
